Feel free to send us your news as it happens. Big or small brags, funny stories, upcoming litters,
as long as everything is Belgian related. E-mail me with your news, photos are welcome, too.
This web space is generously donated by our parent club, The Belgian Shepherd Dog Club of Canada. Our section covers news within New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

We don't see many Belgian Shepherd rescues very often in the Maritimes. Sometimes dogs become available when returned to their breeder perhaps due to a divorce, death or incompatibility. Any potential homes will be carefully screened for suitability and may require a home check by an Atlantic Section member. Any dogs available will be listed here along with their contact information.
Please visit http://rescue.bsdcc.org/ to see current dogs that may be available across Canada.
We will post upcoming Belgian litters here. We encourage any potential puppy owners to ask many questions of breeders and they will in turn be questioned as to their suitability for a Belgian. Inquire about health testing, and find out as much information on the parents as you can. Also visit the breeder if possible. Health checks that are common in this breed are: x-raying Hips and Elbows for any signs of dysplasia and eyes are checked by a certified ophthalmologists for problems like cataracts or other inherited diseases. Here are two main registries for health results:
OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of America)
CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation)
